Story

Close to 30 members of staff from across Lincoln City have joined forces to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Employees of Lincoln City, Lincoln City Foundation and Lincoln City Women - alongside record appearance holder Grant Brown, and representatives of fan websites the Stacey West Blog and All.Lincoln are pushing themselves every day in October.

The daily challenge sees 27 people take part in the daily run of 3k, 5k or 10k - or cycle the equivalent distance of 3km, 15km or 25km - every day in the calendar month. Each individual has chosen a tier based on what presents a challenge for them.

They are joining staff of professional clubs across the country as part of the annual Prostate United challenge.

City's senior communications manager Luke Thornhill, who is taking part for the second year running, said: "It is a fantastic effort from my colleagues to have 27 people put their hands up to take part, almost doubling the amount of people we had last year.

"I'm grateful to everyone who is joining us in the challenge, and those who have or will support us as we raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK as well awareness of the disease - it certainly helped me understand my risks, having learnt since last year of a family history of prostate cancer.”
