New Zealand international Kris Bright has signed for the Club on a deal until the end of the season.

Having appeared briefly for Gillingham's youth team, Bright (27) cut his teeth at Waitakere City in his homeland and after a year with the New Zealand Knights move to Europe with Fortuna Sittard (Netherlands), Kristiansund (Norway) and Panserraikos (Greece) before signing for Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2009.

Having made his full international bow five months before moving to England, Bright spent a season with Shrewsbury with his first goal for the club coming against the Imps in April 2010, although all bar four of his 26 League appearances came as a substitute.

On leaving the Shrews he had a spell with in Hungary with Budapest Honvéd and averaged a goal every other game with Balzan in Malta, Bryne FK in Norway and Finnish side FC Haka.

In March 2013 Bright, whose father Dave represented New Zealand in the 1982 World Cup, signed for IFK Mariehamn and was once again amongst the goals during his season with the club in the Finnish Premier League.

He has been handed the number 18 squad shirt, made vacant following Delano Sam-Yorke's return to Cambridge United and will be available for selection once international clearance is granted.
