Basford edged their pre-season friendly over the Imps 4-3 on Tuesday evening.
Ben Tomlinson, Alex Simmons and Jordan Burrow grabbed City's goals in a game which ebbed and flowed throughout.
Hosts Basford took an early lead courtesy of a Marc Goodfellow free-kick but the Imps responded quickly with Tomlinson finishing from close range after Tom Miller crashed a header from a Sean Newton corner against the bar.
A scrambled TJ Nightingale goal edged United back in front on the half-hour mark before teenager Simmons followed up after Burrow was denied by the home keeper.
Nightingale made it 3-2 shortly before the hour mark before Burrow levelled for the third time but it didn't take long for Basford to add to, and complete, the scoring with Goodfellow bagging his second of the game.
