Tom Miller joins Gary Simpson's Squad

Gary Simpson continues to build his Squad for the new campaign, with 22 year old Tom Miller signing a two year contract for the Red Imps at Sincil Bank Stadium this afternoon.

Miller, a versatile defender re-joined the Imps in July 2012 having finished the 2011/12 season on the Imps’ books, and was a key player for the Imps last term, making 44 appearances in all competitions.

A product of Norwich City's academy set up, Ely-born Tom was the Canaries' "Young Player of the Year" in 2008 but after he wasn't handed a professional contract by the Carrow Road club, was snapped up by Glasgow Rangers on a two-year deal after impressing whilst on trial at the Scottish giants.

The breakthrough into the first team at Ibrox never materialised though and Tom, who can operate either midfield or defence, left the club for League of Ireland side Dundalk in February 2010.

He quickly became a favourite at Oriel Park, making 32 appearances and scoring once before joining Newport County during the January transfer window of 2011. He was released by the Exiles just over a year later after playing 37 times for the Welsh side.
