Congratulations to Thurlby Primary School who won the regional stage of the Football League Community Cup held at Sincil Bank last Friday.

The day proved to be a great success both with glorious sunshine and great ability level throughout.

All 28 schools arrived full of enthusiasm and Thurlby Primary School proved to be the overall winners on the day by defeating Manor Leas Junior School 2-0 in the final.

Semi-Finalists Cherry Willingham Primary and Birchwood Juniors also did themselves proud to progress so far in the competition.

The next stage for Thurlby is to represent Lincoln City at Luton Town FC in the League 2 (South) Regional Finals on Tuesday 21st April 2009 at the Baldock Arena.

They will compete against the 11 other teams with the winners of this playing in a final on the pitch at Wembley Stadium before the League Two Play Off Final in May.
