Three second half goals saw the Imps come from behind against Macclesfield Town to record their fifth successive League 2 victory.
City went a goal down in the eighth minute when Gareth Evans escaped the offside trap to round Alan Marriott and slot home with ease and that's how things stayed until the 72nd minute when Lenny John-Lewis fired home an equaliser.
John-Lewis's first League goal at Sincil Bank came after a Mark Stallard header from a Jamie Forrester cross crashed against the post before the ball landed at the teenager's feet.
John-Lewis then set up Forrester who swept City in front nine minutes later whilst it was left to substitute Dany N'Guessan to wrap things up in the closing stages when he curled past Macclesfield's sub 'keeper Tommy Lee after John-Lewis again turned provider.
Five on the trot then for Peter Jackson and his never-say-die troops with the win lifting City up to the dizzy heights of 14th in the Coca-Cola League 2 table.
Match report by John Vickers at Sincil Bank Stadium:
There were two changes to the City side that started against Accrington Staney on Tuesday night with the suspended Louis Dodds being replaced by Ben Wright and Shane Clarke coming in for the injured Lee Frecklington. The first switch saw Jamie Forrester start on the left with Wright partnering Mark Stallard up front whilst the second was a straight swap in midfield.
A sunny February afternoon greeted the two teams as they made their and it was the Imps who were the first to press with skipper Scott Kerr making a cleer break forward before he was bundled over on the edge of the box. It looked a clear foul but referee Jarnail Singh was having none of it and waved play-on.
Macclesfield's response saw them force a corner which ened up with Neil Ashton blazing a volley over the roof of the Stacey West Stand whilst at the other end a foul on Wright gave City a chance from a set-piece but the visiting defence held firm.
The Silkmen attacked again in the sixth minute with Michael Symes slicing well wide from a Danny Thomas cross but two minutes later a long ball over the top set GARETH EVANS free down the middle. City's appeals for offside fell on deaf ears and striker Evans did the rest, flicking the ball past Marriott who had raced off his line before slotting into an empty net.
The flag stayed down again five minutes later as Town pressed again; this time Thomas took advantage of the generous officiating but his cross ino the box was flicked off ex-Imp Franny Green's head by goalscorer Evans.
It was a frustrating opening as far as City were concerned with appeals for handball before Green volleyed over from the edge of the box also being ignored, forcing the crowd to vent their frustrations at the men in black.
Apart from Kerr's early foray forward, the clock was in the 23rd minute before the next City attack of note came along, Stallard bundled over by two defenders on the left leading to a free-kick. Kerr whipped in a dangerous centre to the back post where the ball was headed back across goal by Wright only a defender to clear for a corner.
Another corner followed but this one was pulled up after referee Singh deemed that Lee Beevers' challenge on Ashton was unfair and play restarted with a free-kick to the Silkmen in the six-yard box.
Macclesfield's response saw them win their second and third corners either side of the half-hour mark whilst Marriott did well to concede a fourth, tipping a looping Evans header from a Reid cross over the bar.
At the other end, Jamie Forrester had a deflected effort saved well low to his right by Jonny Brain whilst a second Forrester effort shortly afterwards saw him drill wide after exchanging passes with Stallard.
Good play from Lenny John-Lewis saw him force a corner for City 10 minutes before the break but Macclesfield stood firm again and their subsequent counter-attack saw them win a corner of their own.
City pressed again after clearing the danger and great centre from Green, which was cleverly dummied by Wright, saw the ball fallto Stallard at the back post. Town 'keeper Brain somehow blocked his initial effort whilst his follow-up was also kept out by some brave defending.
When the ball was hacked clear, Brain remained on the deck, clutching the back of his head and once referee Singh brought play to a halt, the 'keeper was able to receive treatment. It was soon apparent that he was in some difficultly and on came Tommy Lee as his replacement.
Lee's first touch saw him come off his line to smother the ball at the feet of Stallard as the City striker looked to get on the end of a Forrester through-ball. This came just before the Fourth Official indicated that a minimum of two minutes, which passed without incident, were to be added.

No changes were made at the break and, with City now attacking the Stacey West Stand, it was the visitors who got the game underway again.
City were quick out of the traps, forcing a corner 60 seconds in but Kerr's delivery was easily claimed by Lee. A Green free-kick was also held by the substitute 'keeper whilst a 50th minute Kerr corner floated over everyone in the area before a foul on Stallard gave Green another chance.
This one was headed clear but City continued to press as they went in search of a leveller and they came within inches of equalising in the 53rd minute when a fine Stalled volley crashed against the crossbar before John-Lewis sliced his follow-up effort wide of the target.
John-Lewis then won a corner, City's sixth of the game, and after Kerr played it short to Green, Beevers could only direct his header over the bar. Kerr then saw yellow for a late challenge on Dunfield on the edge of the centre circle.
Dunfield limped off as a result and as he received further treatment, Macclesfield made it six corners apiece. Dunfield was then cautioned for a late challenge on John-Lewis whilst two seconds later he was replaced by James Ashmore.
Two minutes later Dany N'Guessan was thrown on for Ben Wright; the change seeing the Frenchman slotting in on the left with Forrester moving up front with Stallard.
A let off for the Imps as the game approached its final quarter saw Symes drag a shot across the face of the goal when some fortunate bounces saw the ball land at the tall striker's feet. At the other end good work from N'Guessan saw him create space before swinging the ball in to the area but Forrester, unmarked 10 yards out, headed inches the wrong side of the upright.
Shortly afterwards Clarke hooked the ball in to the area after an N'Guessan effort fell at his feet only for Forrester's shot to be blocked at close range. Neither Ridley nor Clarke could get on the end of the loose ball.
It wasn't long before the ball did run for a man in red and white though as, in the 72nd minute, the Imps drew level.
The goal came after Forrester sent in a cross from the right which was met by Stallard only for his header to come back off the post. On hand, though, was LENNY JOHN-LEWIS to plant the ball past a grounded Lee from six yards out.
Macclesfield looked for a quick response, foul by Clarke on Tolley giving them a chance from a free-kick in a dangerous position but Ashmore's delivery was headed wide by Evans.
At the other end a rare misunderstanding beween Forrester and Stallard saw the former try to play in the latter only for the ball to go straight through to Lee. There was nothing wrong with the communication shortly afterwards though as FORRESTER fired City in front with nine minutes on the clock.
In addition to scorer Forrester, the credit must go to John-Lewis who showed good persistence to keep the ball in play and after he took a couple of touches, he laid it back to Forrester who swept home in style.
Stallard came close to adding a third when he sent a deft chip just wide after more good work by John-Lewis and Forrester. The impressive John-Lewis then played in Stallard who slipped as he tried to bear down on goal.
Nick Blackman replaced Danny Thomas for the visitors with a couple of minutes on the clock and once again it was nail-biting stuff as the seconds started to tick slower.
Those nails were able to have a rest though as the Fourth Official indicated that three minutes were to be added when John-Lewis brought the ball out of defence, looked up and played in DANY N'GUESSAN who subsequently curled a pin-point left-footed effort past an exposed Lee.
Nat Brown was given a run out for Stallard in the last minute of added time; the City striker quite rightly receiving an excellent reception as he made his way off the pitch.
Thirty seconds over the three added, Green went down under Ashton's challenge, forcing Michael Wait on to administer treatment. Ollie Ryan, who was already stripped and ready for action, was his replacement.
Seconds later referee Singh brought proceedings to a close with the 3-1 win making it five on the spin for manager Peter Jackson and his never-say-die troops.
