League Legends At The Bank!
Following our Top 100 League Legends poll last season we are currently in the process of inviting as many of our legends to the Community Day on Sunday 5th August.
To date, 26 Lincoln City legends from the past six decades have confirmed that they will be making an appearance at the Bank whilst we are also hoping that a number of other ex-Imps who appear in the top 100 will be coming along as well.
Media Manager John Vickers, who is currently producing a book entitled City's Centenary, which celebrates the Club's first 100 seasons in the Football League as well as detailing the top 100 Lincoln City League Legends, is looking forward to the day.
"Over the past few weeks we have been busy contacting as many of the living legends as possible and despite a few being unable to attend due to holidays, etc. we are confident that by the time the Community Day comes around the number of confirmed legends will be nearer the 40 mark than 30," he said.
"It promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable day and not only will it be a great chance for old friends to catch up again it will also be a superb opportunity for supporters young and old to acknowledge the part that these people played in the history of Lincoln City Football Club."
As part of the Community Day activities there will be a Legends' Parade on the pitch prior to the Watford friendly whilst following the game supporters who have bought a copy of City's Centenary will be able to get it signed by the legends in Sweeney's Executive Lounge. More details on this will be announced nearer the big day.
