Teenager Danny Handed First Team Call
Teenage defender Daniel Hone has been drafted into the first team squad for Saturday's trip to Brentford.
Second year ASE student Danny, whose father Mark Hone played 66 times for the Club in the 1990s, has been handed the number 27 squad shirt ahead of the trip to Griffin Park and youth team boss Grant Brown, who is currently in charge of first team affairs in a caretaker capacity, says that the 18-year-old thoroughly deserves his call up.
"He's done very well in the youth team and reserves this year and it's a natural progression for him to get a first team squad number and to come into the squad for Saturday's game," said Brown.
"As a young player, every game you play in you've got to try and impress and you've got to go out and perform to the highest of your capabilities and Danny's call up is a recognition of how well he's done over the last 18 months or so.
"It's a great opportunity for him to observe what goes on and how the first team players conduct and prepare themselves prior to a game. It promises to be a great experience for him."
Croydon-born centre-back Danny has been with the Imps since he joined our Centre of Excellence as an under-11.
