Kerr Appeal Withdrawn
Assistant manager Iffy Onuora has decided to withdraw the Club's appeal against Scott Kerr's dismissal against Hereford United on Monday.
On Tuesday, Onoura announced his intention to appeal over Kerr's red card, awarded on the half-hour mark for a challenge on Hereford's Clint Easton, but having thought further about the incident, he confirmed that the appeal would be withdrawn.
"When I first watched the incident on video I felt that we had a good case," said Onuora.
"But having viewed it again since lodging the appeal I wasn't confident that we would have been successful in our appeal, especially as we didn't have the benefit of a different camera angle.
"With that in mind and with the danger of Scott's suspension being increased I reluctantly decided to withdraw the appeal."
The withdrawal means that Kerr will be forced to serve a four-match suspension, starting with Saturday's trip to title-chasing Peterborough United.
The ban, which will be in effect for all football, will be over once the Club have completed four team fixtures, the extra match coming as a result of the offence being Kerr's second dismissal of the season.
With no midweek games left in City's League 2 schedule, Kerr's suspension means he will have to wait until the trip to Morecambe on April 26th before he will be available for selection again.
