Freck Facing Operation?

Posted on: Tue 06 May 2008

Lee Frecklington will find out this week whether or not he'll be able to return in time for pre-season.

Midfielder Frecklington dislocated his right shoulder during the first half of Saturday's 4-2 home defeat to Wrexham and it all depends on the outcome of an assessment later this week as to whether he'll require surgery.

"We'll have Lee assessed over the next few days and once that assessment has taken place then a decision will be made as to whether he'll need an operation or not," said physio Michael Wait.

"If an operation isn't required then Lee should be back for pre-season. If not then he's looking at three to four months on the sidelines."

The other two long-term casualties - teenagers Lenell John-Lewis and Martin Pembleton - are both responding well to their respective treatment and Wait is hopeful that they'll be fully fit by the time the players return in the summer.

"Lenny's not far off full fitness and Pembo's already started some light bike work but neither will be fully fit until around early June though," he added.

"We'll get Lenny re-scanned in around two weeks time as his injured muscle is located quite deep within the hip and although we're still awaiting results on a precautionary scan, I'm confident that Pembo's injury is nothing more than a ligament strain.

"Both lads will almost certainly be back for pre-season though."
