Manager Peter Jackson was left to reflect on missed chances after watching his side get the new season off to a losing start at Rotherham United on Saturday.

A first half goal from the Millers' Reuben Reid was enough to separate the sides at Don Valley Stadium but Jackson says that the outcome would have been different had his players made more of the numerous chances that came along.

"I thought we'd come here today and win the game so I'm disappointed to come away with a loss," he said.

"We had some really good chances but didn't take them. Second half we put them under pressure and there was only one team who were going to score, which was us, but we didn't take our chances. If you don't take your chances you don't get any points.

"Kevin Gall had a great opportunity to open our account in the opening 10 minutes or so. If he scores then we go on and win comfortably. But he didn't.

"We also have to keep clean sheets if we're going to achieve anything. The sloppy goal we conceded didn't happen pre-season so we'll have to learn from that as well."
