Romanian striker Adrian Patulea is on the verge of joining the Club on a permanent basis following positive talks with his club, Petrolul Ploiesti.

The two clubs have been locked in talks for some time with regards to Patulea, who has been training with the Imps for the past six weeks, but an agreement has now been reached in terms of an undisclosed transfer fee.

The paperwork involved in bringing Patulea to Sincil Bank on a one-year contract is currently being finalised and manager Peter Jackson is optimistic that everything will be processed ahead of the closure of the transfer window on Monday.

"Adrian's a terrific kid who has shown great dedication since he came on the scene," he said.

"There have been many twists and turns since day one but hopefully we'll be able to get everything tied up. If it all comes off then he could well find himself in the squad for Saturday's game against Grimsby."
