Peter Jackson will be sweating over the fitness of seven players from his squad as the Imps look to secure their first three points of the season against the Bees.
Lenny John-Lewis, Kevin Gall, Ben Wright and Paul Green all missed training earlier in the week in a bid to shrug off a virus which has been sweeping through the first team. All three recently returned to training, however, Rob Burch, Stefan Oakes and Aaron Brown were all sent home midway through Thursday's training session with the illness.
Despite the above Peter Jackson was remaining upbeat ahead of the game.
"It's been quite a disruptive week for us but I'm confident that the lads will be ok come Saturday," said Jackson.
"It was disappointing to pick up just a point last weekend but the lads showed good character to come from behind after going a goal down in the local derby. We didn't play well on Saturday but still got a point and hopefully we can build from that against Barnet."
Onto better news and Scott Kerr will be back in contention for a place in the starting line up having responded well to treatment on a back injury that he sustained against Wycombe Wanderers.
Finally for the Imps, Adrian Patulea, subject to his international clearance, will be hoping to make his competitive debut in a red and white shirt. The Romanian striker who earned a contract after impressing the management team during pre-season thanked the City fans at the Club's weekly press conference for their support. Meanwhile, City's opponents are still searching for their first point of the season after four straight defeats in the League. After watching his side concede twelve goals in just four League games, Fairclough drafted in Israeli goalkeeper Ran Kadoch from Israeli third division side Nes Ziona. The shot stopper made his debut for the Bees in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday evening but couldn't prevent Dagenham & Redbridge from running out 4-2 victors.
Onto team news and both Bees captain Ismail Yakubu and new French signing Jeremy De Magalhaes are likely to be out with their respective groin injuries. However, fellow defender Joe Devera is expected to return after missing out during midweek through injury.
Referee for the game is first year referee Craig Pawson from South Yorkshire, kick off 3.00pm.
