Boardroom Reshuffle

Posted on: Wed 03 Jun 2009

The Board of Directors held their annual strategy meeting on Monday to review all areas of the Football Club and revise the main aims of the Club's business plan.

At the meeting the various roles and responsibilities of directors were reviewed and following the meeting the following responsibilities have be taken up by the directors:

> Steff Wright to remain as the Club Chairman
> Bob Dorrian to take over the position of Vice-Chairman with responsibility for First Team football
> Chris Travers to continue to chair the Youth Development Board
> Stuart Tindall to continue to take responsibility for the development of the Training Ground
> Kevin Cooke will join the Club's Community Board, and seek to take an active role
> David Beck was re-appointed as the Supporters Trust's nominated Director
> Jean Foster will continue to represent the Trust's Gold Members as their nominated Director
> Jane Powell will continue to represent Lincolnshire Co-operative Ltd as their nominated Director

"All the Club's directors bring a high level of business expertise and personal enthusiasm to the various areas of the Club they are focussed on," said Steff Wright.

"I would personally like to thank David Beck for his support as Vice-Chairman. I know he will continue to do an excellent job in representing the views of the Supporters Trust at board level alongside taking an active involvement as the Club's Disability and Child Protection Officer.

"I was, however, keen for another director to take over the responsibility for First Team football and Bob Dorrian will, I believe, do an excellent job keeping his eye on the pro budget in the position of Vice-Chairman.

"There are many different aspects to the Club apart from what happens on a Saturday afternoon. Chris Travers is keen to continue to further develop the Club's youth department through his chairmanship and Stuart Tindall is keen to ensure the already excellent training facilities continue to be improved and developed.

"Lincoln City Football Club is, as I've already mentioned, not all about football though and the Club's community arm has now achieved charitable status and the trustees are keen for that element of the Club grow in size and deliver more benefits throughout the county. Kevin Cooke has put himself forward to become a trustee of the Community Board, and take a leading role in the continued progression of the community programme.

"I am also pleased that Jane Powell will continue to represent Lincolnshire Co-operative who are great supporters of the Club and it is good to have Jane's legal mind around the Boardroom table. Last, but by no means least, Jean Foster will continue to represent the interests of the Gold Members of the Supporters Trust. This group of supporters helped the Club out during the dark days of administration and continue to put money into the Club whilst keeping a keen interest on what happens.

"There was also a large input into the strategy meeting from Chief Executive Dave Roberts and his key managers who run the Club on a day-to-day basis and do an excellent job. There is certainly more to Lincoln City Football Club than football."
