Striker Pens One-Year Deal
Manager Peter Jackson has made his second signing of the summer with the acquisition of former Blackburn Rovers youngster Jamie Clarke on a one-year deal.
A versatile forward, London-born Clarke finished joint top scorer for Blackburn's academy in the 2005/06 season, his first full season with the club, and enjoyed his first taste of Football League action last season during a loan spell with Accrington Stanley.
Whilst at Accrington, the 20-year-old bagged a hat-trick against Grimsby Town and after he moved on to Rotherham United on a free transfer, he scored on his debut for the Millers in a 2-0 win over Gillingham.
Clarke, who appeared against City for both Accrington and Rotherham last season, was one of nine players released by MIllers' boss Mark Robins last month. His contract with City will commence from July 1st, subject to a medical.
"Jamie played wide left for Accrington and down the middle for Rotherham against us last year so he will certainly give me options," said Jacko.
"He's got an electric turn of pace and I'm delighted to have snapped him up. He's keen, enthusiastic and looking forward to his time here at Lincoln City.
"Having been released twice over the last year or so he's coming here with a point to prove. Hopefully I can bring the best out of him and he'll develop into a key player over the course of next season.
"I'm in talks with another couple of forwards so hopefully there will be some more movement before the end of the week."
