The squad return from their summer break at the weekend, with a pre-season tour to Germany immediately on the agenda.

After the players undergo fitness tests and collect their new training gear on Saturday, they will be heading to Celle in northern Germany for a five-night stay at the nearby army base, which is home to The 2nd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment - better known as 'The Poachers'.

The players will certainly be put through their paces whilst on German soil with intense training sessions high on the agenda whilst they'll take part in two matches, one against a side representing The 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, on Tuesday 30 June, and one against TuS Celle FC two nights later at the Günther-Volker-Stadion in the Lower Saxony town.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the players come in on Saturday, then it will be a case of them packing their bags for our trip to Germany," said manager Peter Jackson.

"The trip will be hard for them as it will involve early starts and a lot of physical work with the PTI's, with sessions taking place both in the morning and afternoon throughout the week.

"I'm sure the tour will prove to be as successful as the one to Catterick was last summer and it will be good for the squad, particularly the new players, to spend some time together early on in pre-season.

"We've got two games planned whilst in Germany with the main focus being on the second match, which will be against Celle FC on the Thursday night. All of the players will get a run out and I'm sure it will be a good test for us."
