Manager Peter Jackson spoke to Redimps World shortly after arriving in Germany and explained the circumstances surrounding Sam Mullarkey's absence from the tour.

"I pulled Sam in yesterday (Saturday) and I explained the situation that as his contract had run out it was back in the favour of the Club. I was disappointed he hadn't signed it," explained Jacko.

"I offered him the chance to come here to do pre-season with us and see how he does because competition, particularly for up front, is good, particularly with Hutchinson and Adams coming through."

"We offered him the opportunity and he declined that and that's Sam's right and hopefully he will get fixed up and move on."
