Reserves Host Hartlepool

Posted on: Wed 03 Mar 2010

Lincoln Reserves will be seeking their first win of the New Year when they host Hartlepool United at Sincil Bank today (Kick-off 2pm).

Despite two draws from their three matches in 2010, the Imps' second string have not won a game since they beat today's opponents in the reverse fixture in December.

With that in mind, Scott Lindsey fields a strong line-up featuring seven first-team squad players. Stefan Oakes, Danny Hone, Clark Keltie, Shane Clarke, Paul Connor, Lennel John-Lewis and Michael Gordon all start.

City fans will get another chance to see James Reid in action. The young winger capped an impressive debut with a goal after just nine minutes against Scunthorpe last week and retains his starting place.

Greg Enstone returns to the line-up, while youth team duo Jack Davies and Nick Draper are on the bench.

A late Donal McDermott goal denied the Imps victory at Scunthorpe last Wednesday. Strikes from Reid and Stefan Oakes put Lincoln 2-1 up before the Iron levelled with four minutes to go.

This afternoon's opponents Hartlepool will be looking for their fourth straight win and will be aiming to avenge their crushing defeat to City earlier in the season.

The Pools are unbeaten in 2010 with three wins from three matches so far, scoring nine goals and conceding just once in the process. Their victories have come against leaders Leeds (1-0), Middlesborough (2-0) and Scunthorpe (6-1).

However, the Imps were 4-0 winners when the sides met at Billingham Town. Two first-half goals from Lenell John-Lewis and one apiece from Andy Hutchinson and Khano Smith gave City a comfortable win.

Colin West has included first-team player James Brown and trialist Martin Vinther in his squad for today's meeting. Kick-off at the Bank is at 2pm.

The game kicks off at 2pm with entrance to the game via the Fox Executive Lounge.

Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for concessions while season ticket holders can watch the game for free on production of their season ticket book.
