Keith Alexander Day At The Moss Rose

Posted on: Tue 09 Mar 2010

Macclesfield Town are inviting supporters of every club who has been touched by the presence of Keith Alexander to the Moss Rose.

The Silkmen face Bury, one of Keith's former clubs, at the Moss Rose on Saturday in their first home game since the sad passing of the hugely popular football man.

"It is very fitting that we should be playing a club with links to Keith Alexander," said Silkmen vice chairman Andy Scott. "And whilst Bury supporters will obviously be well represented on the day, we are also inviting supporters of every club which Keith either played for or managed to the Moss Rose this weekend."

In addition to the Imps, Keith played for clubs up and down the country, from Stockport to Kettering and from Barnet to Cliftonville in Northern Ireland and Macclesfield officials would like to see as many different replica shirts on show as possible as the club celebrates the life of a hugely respected man.

"Keith was a real football man" added Andy. "And we can't think of a better tribute than to see fans sporting their colours on the terraces remembering his achievements with their clubs."

The invitation is not only for clubs who have been in some way represented by Keith Alexander as any football fans will be more than welcome at the Moss Rose.
