Imps v Hereford - Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010

The Imps will be forced to make changes from the side that got a one all draw with table topping Rochdale last week.

Centre back Ian Pearce is doubtful after picking up a hamstring injury with Danny Hone likely to step in to partner Moses Swaibu at the back. 18 year old scholar Greg Enstone has been handed squad number 27 ahead of the game and could act as back up should Pearce not make it.

Chris Herd will also miss out after being forced off with an ankle injury last week. The creative midfielder could be a big loss for the Imps but Chris Sutton will hope that James Reid will be an able deputy after signing non-contract terms ahead of the game. The former Nottingham Forest winger impressed in two reserve games for the Imps while on trial with an excellent goal in both outings.

Centre backs Nathan Baker (ankle) and Adam Watts (broken leg) remain sidelined along with midfielder Clark Keltie (hamstring) and forward Lennel John-Lewis (hamstring).

Paul Green returned to training this week and could come into contention for a place on the bench.

Hereford will be lead by Graham Turner once more following the dismissal of John Trewick earlier in the week.

The Bulls have underperformed this season having been relegated from League One last season and a spell of one win in the last five saw brought about the end of Trewick's spell in charge.

James McQuilken returns from a one game ban while defender Paul Downing will be unavailable as the loanee serves a suspension after being sent off against Notts County.

Referee for the game is Darren Deadman with kick off at Sincil Bank 7.45pm.
