Imps v Dagenham - Match Preview

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

The Imps return to action at Sincil Bank this evening looking to follow on from Friday's 3-1 victory over Hereford.

The win came at a cost for the Imps though with both Ian Pearce and Moses Swaibu both being forced off through respective leg and back injuries.

Pearce looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines but Swaibu could make the game and will be assessed ahead of kick off to see if he can retain his place in the starting line up. Right back Paul Green could start alongside Danny Hone if Swaibu doesn't make the starting XI or Sutton may opt for 18 year old scholar Greg Enstone for his league debut.

Chris Herd (ankle), Richard Butcher and Clarke Keltie (both hamstring) remain sidelined so Shane Clarke is likely to continue in centre midfield and Matthew Saunders on the left after an impressive showing last time out from the pair. James Reid is waiting in the wings to make his Imps debut after signing on non-contract terms until the end of the season last week.

Lennel John-Lewis is still a doubt with a troublesome hamstring injury so Drewe Broughton and Davide Somma are likely to continue up front although it could be Broughton's last game for the club as his loan, along with Matthew Saunders' loan deal, is due to expire after tonight's game.

Dagenham were the early pace setters and in the middle of November a 1-0 win over Accrington saw the Daggers go top of the League. However a drop in form now sees them eleventh in the League Two table but still only four points from the play offs.

The Daggers will be without the services of ex Imp Peter Gain after the midfielder currently serves a suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards.

Will Antwi continues his recovery from a calf injury and will miss the game, while midfielder Stuart Thurgood could be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Kick off at Sincil Bank is at 7.45pm with Scott Mathieson referee for the game.
