City got their 2010/11 pre-season campaign off to a winning start on Saturday afternoon, securing a 2-1 win at Staines Town.
Having trailed to a first half goal from Scott Taylor , the Imps bounced back with trialist Scott Anson levelling matters before summer signing Gavin McCallum notched what turned out to be the winner.
The match at Wheatsheaf Park, played in soaring temperatures, saw manager Chris Sutton cast his eye over a number of trialists, including the Reunion Island trio of Adifane Hamada Noussoura, Uldric Samaria and Rémy Lauret as well as former Kilmarnock striker Anson and ex-Exeter City winger James Berry.
After Taylor had given the hosts the lead shortly before the half-hour mark when he was the first to react after a swerving shot from Richard Butler had hit the bar, City rallied with Anson making the most of a poor clearance to level from six yards.
After the break, and following a number of changes in personnel, it was left to Canadian international McCallum to secure the victory when he converted a Clark Keltie free-kick.
