IMPVEST: New LCFC Share Purchases

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

The Club is delighted to announce that, following a letter which was recently sent out by shareholder John Roddam, it has received 26 share applications to the value of almost £5,000.

"A number of people have asked me why I wrote to all the shareholders at the same time as the Club announced the cash injection but at the time of posting I had no knowledge of a holding company being formed and half a million pounds being injected," said Mr Roddam, a former chairman of Lincoln City Supporters Trust.

"The idea for my letter started probably in November last year when it became clear to me that the income versus outgoings would not balance.

"I had no idea on what figure the playing budget was based but with poor performance on the pitch it was clear that there was going to be a shortfall in gate revenue.

"As I said in my letter, we can all sit around and blame everyone but moaning does not solve anything. I asked a couple of very good supporters of the Club and friends of mine to help with the cost of postage, etc and with the Club's agreement, as they hold the share register, put the wheels in motion.

"This season, to me, was only ever all about stabilising the Club and coming to terms with life without the kudos of Football League status. If my letter has helped to ensure that Lincoln City begins to grow then that is to the betterment of everyone."
