Former England Youth international goalkeeper Joe joined the Imps on a two-year deal in the summer of 2010, having been released by Port Vale following six seasons as a professional at Vale Park.
Joe started his career as a youngster with Blackburn Rovers before joining the Valiants in 2004 and after loan spells with Stafford Rangers and Harrogate Town, he made his first team debut for Vale in December 2006 and was a regular between the sticks until a broken leg sustained against Chesterfield in March 2009 forced him to sit on the sidelines for six months.
Port Vale's 'Player of the Season' in 2008/09, Joe returned to first team action in January 2010 but with Vale failing to reach the end of season play-offs, he was released having made just seven appearances in the 2009/10 season.
Joe, who found first team chances limited following the arrival of Sunderland loanee Trevor Carson, spent March 2011 on loan at Morecambe before returning to Sincil Bank.
