Like team mate Martin Pembleton, striker Gary King was at the end of his second and final year as a Scholar when he was offered a professional contract by manager Peter Jackson.
Like Martin, Gary joined the Club as a member of the Centre of Excellence Under-9 squad and he hasn't looked back. A regular goalscorer at both youth and reserve team level, Gary's first taste of League action came as an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw at Hartlepool in March 2007.
Gary marked the signing of his first professional contract by scoring his first Football League goal, which came at Sincil Bank against Brentford on April 19th 2008 in what was his full League debut.
A natural goalscorer, a big future lies ahead for Gary, who was one of 10 products of the Club's youth system to play League football during the 2007/08 season.
