Centre-back Danny started the 2007/08 season as a second year Scholar but having impressed after he forced his way into the first team, signed his first professional contract.
A former captain of the U18s, Danny - whose father Mark Hone played for the Imps in the 1990s - first joined the Club as an Under-11 and capped an excellent first League season by being named as joint 'Young Player of the Season' with Lenell John-Lewis whilst he also found himself on the shortlist for the League 2 Apprentice of the Year award at the annual Football League Awards.
The 2008/09 season ended somewhat abruptly for Danny, however, as a knee ligament injury sustained in a match at Rochdale in January forced him to undergo surgery. Although he returned to the squad towards the end of the season, he was forced to settle for a place on the substitute's bench.
Despite being a regular in the starting line-up during Chris Sutton's early days in charge at Sincil Bank, Danny was restricted to just 17 starts in the 2009/10 season after he found himself down edged down the pecking order. Injuries elsewhere in the squad, however, saw him finish the season in the starting line-up with Danny putting in some impressive performances in the process.
