Striker Sam Mullarkey was offered a one-year deal by manager Peter Jackson a week before the start of the 2008/09 season following a successful per-season trial period with the Imps. A former Mid Lincs Youth League player, Lincoln-born Sam featured regularly during the pre-season campaign and became Jackson's eighth signing of the summer.
An ex-Nottingham Forest trainee, Sam was released by the City Ground outfit without making a first team appearance, and linked up with Lincoln United shortly afterwards. A permanent move to Grantham Town in the summer of 2007 followed after he impressed in a number of pre-season matches but his debut was delayed following minor injuries sustained in a car crash.
Sam netted 19 times for Grantham in his one season with the Gingerbreads whilst his first contact with the Imps, apart from supporting them from the stands as a youngster, came towards the end of the 2007/08 season, appearing in a number of reserve team fixtures.
Sam's full kit is sponsored by Seamus Lawless Civil Engineering Ltd.
