The first of four first year scholars to force their way into the first team set up in 2008/09, centre-back Kern was an unused substitute twice before he made his Football League bow at Accrington Stanley in April 2009.
A product of the Club's youth system having joined the Imps as an eight-year-old, a big future is predicted for the tall defender, who signed a six-month professional contract in the summer of 2010 along with fellow teenagers Nathan Adams and Andy Hutchinson.
