Matthew is a product of Fulham's Academy with the box-to-box midfielder joining the Imps for a second spell on loan from the Cottagers on February 16th 2010.
A regular in Fulham's reserve side, Matthew featured in a number of first team pre-season friendlies for the Londoners and initially joined the Imps at the same time as team mates Joe Anderson and Michael Uwezu when the January 2010 transfer window opened, making an impressive debut for City in the FA Cup Third Round match at Bolton Wanderers.
