Reserves Lose To Strong Boro

Posted on: Tue 10 Nov 2009

The reserves lost 3-0 to a strong Middlesbrough second string at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon in their latest totesport.com League fixture.

Boro took the lead shortly after the half-hour mark when Marvin Emnes side-footed past Paul Musselwhite with Lenny John-Lewis coming within inches of levelling matters shortly afterwards.

John-Lewis came close twice more before Boro doubled their advantage nine minutes into the second half through Andrew Taylor and after the experienced duo of Stefan Oakes and Richard Butcher almost got City back into the game, a Mark Yeates effort wrapped things up for the home side.

Boro res: Steele, McMahon, Riggott, Smallwood, Bennett, Yeates, Walker (Saiko 63), Porritt (Corker 75), Franks, Emnes (Martin 66). Sub (not used): Smith.
