The reserves were held to a 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe on Wednesday evening with a late effort for the hosts earning them a share of the spoils.

City took the lead in the ninth minute when trialist James Reid produced an excellent finish from a narrow angle but this was cancelled out towards the end of the first half when Jake Picton headed in a Donal McDermott cross.

Stefan Oakes restored the lead when his 35-yard free-kick whistled past Sam Slocombe but with four minutes on the clock, McDermott levelled with four minutes on the clock.
