The U18s kept up their form in front of goal on with a 6-1 Puma Youth Alliance success over Mansfield Town on Saturday.

Fresh from the 5-0 Midland Youth Cup win over Nuneaton Town in midweek, the U18s recorded another fine victory at the expense of the Stags.

Nathan Adams netted another brace and Andy Hutchinson continued his fine run in front of goal whilst Luca Coleman-Carr, Jack Roberts and Greg Enstone also got their names on the scoresheet.

"It was the first time this season that we've strung two good performances together and we achieved what we set out to do," said Head of Youth Tom Spall.

"I was little bit disappointed that we conceded just before half time which made it 3-1 because it could have given them a foot-hole in the game. But, we just got better and better, and some of the football we played was of the highest standard.

"There were a couple of goals where we just played little one-touch football around the box and it was a pleasure to watch.

"Again, I didn't want to pick any individuals out, however Jack Roberts and Liam Bull were excellent. If they can keep up that level throughout the season then they will have a good chance to earn themselves a professional contract.

"The game could have finished in double figures for us and it was pleasing to see Andy Hutchinson make it six goals in six games, whilst Nathan Adams got on the score sheet again to take up his tally to five in six. Our left back Luca Coleman-Carr scored from another set piece and Greg Enstone added to his season tally with a goal.

"To finish off the match Jack Roberts scored probably the best goal of the game in the 88th minute with a fantastic effort which summed up the performance.

"Another clean sheet would have been nice but their manager was very complimentary of us which were the second team to do so this season."
