PREVIEW: Imps v Harriers

The Imps welcome Kidderminster Harriers to The 12th Imp Sincil Bank Stadium for the first Blue Square Bet Premier fixture of the 2012/13 season.

Having rebuilt his squad over the course of the summer, manager David Holdsworth was hoping to have been able to select from a fully-fit squad for the home clash against the Harriers but his selection process has been hampered by a number of injury problems.

His main concern comes in the middle of the park where Alan Power (ankle) and newly-appointed team captain Gary Mills (bruised shin) are both struggling and highly unlikely to be passed fit for the game.

In addition, Jake Sheridan and first year professional Frazer Cobb are also on the sidelines and with teenager Karl Cunningham loaned out to Goole, midfield options for Holdsworth are somewhat limited.

Saying that, defenders Dan Gray and Tom Miller are more than capable of slotting in to a more advanced role, as are the likes of Peter Bore and Nicky Nicolau, whilst Portuguese newcomer Geoffrey Gouveia could also be an option with international clearance having been granted for the summer signing.

Elsewhere on the injury front, Conal Platt is still some way off a return following his broken leg earlier in the year, but the winger is making good progress as he steps up his rehabilitation.

New signings Rob Duffy, Andrew Boyce, Adam Smith and Paul Farman are all expected to start with the latter two hoping to get their second spells at the Club off to a winning start.

Harriers boss Steve Burr also has selection problems to contend with as he will be without strikers Anthony Malbon (illness) and Steve Guinan (ankle) whilst defender Lee Vaughan starts the season on the suspended list.

Kick off at The 12th Imp Sincil Bank Stadium is 3.00pm with Karl Evans the match referee.
