The 2013 Keith Alexander Memorial Tournament sponsored by The Lincolnshire Echo takes place this weekend.
Now in its third year the tournament has already established a reputation for being a well-organised and competitive event in which young players from a number of Academies set high standards of quality and entertainment.
This year’s tournament is being played at Ravendale Drive, Lincoln, LN2 2JN with the following teams set to take part:
Saturday 17th August:
Group A: Scunthorpe United, Hull City, Grimsby Town, Boston United
Group B: Norwich City, Peterborough United, Lincoln City, Burton Albion
Sunday 18th August:
Group A: Hull City, Grimsby Town, Burton Albion, Lincoln College
Group B: Scunthorpe United, Lincoln City B, Peterborough United, St Helens
Group C: Norwich City, Lincoln City A, Boston United, Lincoln United
First matches kick off at 10:00am. Supporters and spectators welcome.
All proceeds from the tournament will go directly to the Future Imps Fund which was launched in April to attract new investment into the Club to help sustain the Youth Academy. Keith Alexander himself was a huge supporter of the Club's Youth Department and this annual event is a fitting tribute to his memory.
