After viewing video footage of the incident that led to Adam Smith's sending off against Grimsby Town on New Year's Day, the Club have decided to lodge an appeal to the Football Association.

Smith was dismissed by referee Karl Evans in stoppage time during the 1-1 Blue Square Bet Premier draw at Blundell Park, with the official deeming that the substitute's challenge on Town's Bradley Wood was worthy of a straight red card.

Smith faces a three-match ban should the Club's appeal not be successful.
