Schofield Back At The Bank

John Schofield has returned to the Club in a coaching capacity.

Schofield, who made almost 300 appearances for the Imps as a player before leading the Club's youth set-up, was first team coach at Sincil Bank prior to the start of the 2005/06 season and Head Coach the following year in succession to Keith Alexander, leading the Imps to a fifth placed finish, the highest for eight years.

Having been out of football since leaving his post as assistant manager at Scunthorpe United in October, Lincoln-based Schofield has been quick to offer his support to the Club, which he still has a strong affection for.

"Chris was looking to add to his coaching staff and I'm in a position where I can come in and help," said Schofield.

"I approached Chris and told him that I would gladly come in and do whatever is required if he wanted me to. We had a good chat about things and I'm delighted that he took up my offer.

"Everyone behind the scenes is looking to take the Club forward and hopefully the experience I've gained in recent years will be of benefit."

"John is an excellent coach and he will be a positive influence on the players," added Moyses.

"We're starting to build a strong foundation and to have someone of John's calibre come in can only be a good thing.

"He lives in the city which is vitally important to me and to the 'Team Lincoln' ethic which we're trying to bring back to the Club."
