A new intake of young talent is ready to take their first steps on the apprenticeship ladder here at Lincoln City.

Following the success of last year's Midland Youth Cup victory and the recent agreement of Alex Simmons and Kegan Everington to become first year professionals, the latest batch of new scholars will shortly be embarking on the next level of their footballing journey.

Five of next season's first year scholars graduated through the Club's own youth system - Cenk Acar (midfielder), Liam Harris (midfielder), Lewis Millington (striker), Calum Stewart (defender) and Richard Walton (goalkeeper). They are joined by former Scunthorpe United midfielder Sam Fewkes and Worksop-born defender Leon Loftus, recruited from Doncaster Rovers.

The remainder of the 16-strong squad are last season's first year scholars. They are Josh Barr-Rostron (midfielder), Jordon Cooke (defender), Connor Griffin (defender), Kieran Helsdown (striker), Jordan Harper (striker), Mason Love (defender), Henry Smith (goalkeeper) and Andy Wright (midfielder).

The squad will be skippered by long-serving Lincoln-born defender Marlon Grundy (pictured), another graduate of the Club's Academy.

The players return for their induction into the LFE education programme and will begin pre-season training on 1st July.

A busy pre-season games programme kicks off with the visit of Chesterfield on Saturday 5th July and the Youth Alliance League programme begins on Saturday 9th August.
