The Imps’ first pre-season fixture saw them progress through to the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire FA County Senior Cup supported by Bluefin Sport at the expense of Grantham Town.
Two Terry Hawkridge goals before the break set City on their way before second half efforts from trialists Jonny Margetts and James Caton put the Imps four up. Although Danny Durkin pulled one back for the Gingerbreads late on, a stoppage time Margetts penalty wrapped things up.The win means we will travel to either Gainsborough Trinity or Lincoln United, who play each other on Saturday 16 July, in the semi-finals. This means either our friendly at Gainsborough on Tuesday 19 July or Lincoln United on Saturday 23 July will become the semi-final tie.
