Lincoln win 4-1 to maintain their winning streak in pre season friendlies.

Danny and Nicky Cowley’s first home game in charge got off to a fantastic start here at Sincil Bank against a young Reading side. Only 30 seconds in, James Caton rifled in a low drive from the edge of the box following a defensive mix up.

A minute later it got even better for the Imps. Jack Muldoon raced through the Reading defence and slotted low past Tapper into the bottom corner of the goal.

City continued to press with James Caton in particular causing the Reading back line problems. Matt Rhead then volleyed wide from 20 yards after spinning his man.

Reading came more into the game midway through the first half. Novakovich had a shot blocked by Callum Howe and then Paul Farman made a smart stop to deny the striker shortly after.

Terry Hawkridge took a knock and received some treatment but unfortunately couldn’t continue and was replaced by Jonny Margetts.

It was almost 3-0 to Lincoln on the stroke of half time. Margetts hit a long range strike that was just wide of Tapper’s goal.
