Statement From The Board

26 July 2016

Sponsored by

The Board of Directors has been alarmed and angered by recent incidents involving smoke bombs and pyrotechnics at some of our pre-season fixtures.

The Board condemns the use and inappropriate application of these items and reminds supporters that such use is illegal. We also wish to apologise to the supporters and officials of the clubs involved.

The use of smoke bombs in football stadia is also anti-social, a health hazard, and damaging to the reputation of the football club and the vast majority of our supporters.

The club is working closely with officials at the clubs affected by the actions of a few mindless individuals, with a view to identifying them.  We will consider banning orders for anyone identified as being involved in any incidents with pyrotechnics or smoke bombs either at recent matches or in the future, whether or not the perpetrators receive criminal convictions.

If anyone has information that can assist us in identifying those responsible please call the football club on 01522 880011 and ask to speak to MD Kevin Cooke.

On behalf of the Board.
