The Lincoln City Knight now sits proudly at Sincil Bank thanks to local sponsors and supporters of the Club.
The Knight is now situated at the Club outside the Sport and Education Trust office and a huge thank you must go to Adele Would, Jan Hope and other committee members of L.I.S.A for being instrumental in the whole process. They approached local businesses and supporters asking for donations and they managed to raise a huge amount which resulted in the Club being donated the Knight.
Adele added, "The mission to secure the Lincoln City Knight began only 10 days before they were due to be auctioned. A crowdfunding page was set up initially to kick start the campaign. This was followed by bucket collections around Sincil Bank at the Barnet fixture for supporters to donate. Local businesses also formed a consortium. This was vital in allowing us to have a final figure to bid with on the night."
The Lincoln City Knight was one of 36 sculptures across Lincoln City Centre which celebrated the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln. These knights formed a trail that was spread across Lincoln and this was available to see throughout the summer of 2017.
Each knight was painted and designed by local artists. All of the knights were then auctioned off at the Lincoln Cathedral in September 2017 and the proceeds (a fantastic £180,000) were raised for the Nomad Trust Charity.
