The John Reames Memorial pre-season match was a very well contested affair which saw Peterborough run out 3-2 winners.
The Imps started off the game on the front foot winning a number of early corners but it was Peterborough who broke the deadlock on 3 minutes. Gwion Edwards was left unmarked at the back post to volley in a corner from close range.
Jordan Maguire-Drew looked sharp early on with some excellent footwork but Jack Marriott made it 2-0 to Posh on 14 mins. He hit an excellent shot from the edge of the box that went in off the post.
Matt Green then reduced the deficit in the 23rd minute. He was in the right place at the right time to flick Matt Rhead’s header into the bottom corner.
City continued to press when Billy Knott found space 20 yards out but his shot was saved by Bond in the Peterborough goal.
Posh looked dangerous on the counter attack. Marcus Maddison tried an audacious lob but Farman dealt with it well.
Junior Morais then went close for Peterborough before the interval, he curled a left footed shot which flew just past the post.

Bostwick replaced Matt Rhead at half time as the Imps changed formation.
Sean Raggett went close with a header from a Maguire-Drew corner before Farman made a great save on the goal line after a cross was almost deflected in at the near post.
The Imps had another half chance on the hour mark, a teasing Maguire Drew cross was met by Raggett but his header fell just wide.
Luke Waterfall threatened again in the air, his goal bound header was nodded behind for a corner which came to nothing.
Howe, Anderson, Whitehouse, Ginnelly and Palmer were introduced on the hour mark in place of Waterfall, Maguire-Drew, Knott, Arnold and Green.
City almost equalised when Harry Anderson had two efforts blocked by Bond.
Josh Ginnelly got City’s second in the 71st minute with a fantastic turn on the edge of the box before hitting a left footed shot into the bottom corner.
Peterborough United then found the winner against the run of play. It was Jack Marriott with his second goal of the game in the 84th minute, he hit a powerful drive past Farman.
