The transfer of Simeon Akinola to Lincoln City has been reviewed in full by the EFL but unfortunately it has been judged that “’in the circumstances The EFL cannot approve the application (of transfer)."
On this matter, Chief Executive Liam Scully said: "It is clearly a disappointing outcome; however, we do of course respect the rules that are in place. It has come down to the finest of margins but the EFL have been very supportive and their role should be viewed positively by all who will be disappointed by this outcome.
"Equally Simeon and his agent have acted with great integrity throughout the transfer proceedings and all at Lincoln City FC would like to wish Sim all the very best."
