VIDEO: "It's getting to crunch time of the season," says Habergham

Sam Habergham understands how crucial Lincoln’s last five leagues games are and has said that the side will aim to get as many points as possible.

Habergham spoke to the media on Monday prior to Tuesday night’s fixture with Wycombe Wanderers.

“It is getting to the crunch time of the season with not many games left so we are hoping to get as many points as we can. Playing the teams around us will be key for us to pick up some points," He said.

“Any team in this league is going to go for it but if you are playing the teams around you then you know that both teams have something to play for.”

The Imps visited Adams Park on the opening day of the season where they picked up a point in a 2-2 draw.

Despite Habergham not featuring in that game he spoke about the opponents: “You both know the way each other is going to play as you they have probably played like that all season. It is going to be a tough game but is it one we are looking forward to.

“We have a lot of players who have been involved in big games. Towards the end of last season, we played in some big games where we had to win and we did that.”

The defender finished by speaking about the physicality of Gareth Ainsworth’s side: “In this league and the levels of football I have come from you are used to playing big physical players.

“I think as you get older you manage to play against those sorts of players and you can deal with it. Training with the likes of Rheady means that when we come up against players they are nothing compared to him.

“I like a challenge so it is nice to play man for man against a winger or a big forward.

“Akinfenwa is a big, strong guy who has scored lots of goals this season but altogether Wycombe are a good side and their league position shows that. They have done really well in this league for a few years now.”
