We Need Them To Drive Our Energy

24 April 2018

It’s a huge game lined up tonight, as the Imps travel to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry City. A positive result would boost The Imps chances of finishing in the play-off places in SkyBet League Two, and Danny Cowley would love nothing more than it to come in front of another impressive away following.

The Imps’ manager is respectful of tonight’s hosts and says it will take more than just the team on the field to give his side their fair share of the spoils after witnessing the support given to the Sky Blues in their last home game.

"The game is massive. Me and Nicky went to Coventry last Friday night and there was near-on 10,000 there on the night and the Coventry supporters generated a really good atmosphere and had a real influence on the result.” Cowley said.

Many over the course of the season to date have highlighted how much a positive influence the vociferous travelling support has helped The Imps, and once again the manager is calling on that support tonight as he would love to see as many people at the game despite it being on a ‘school night’.

“I think we were due to have well over 4,000 for the previous game that was postponed unfortunately due to the snow. I respect the fact that it is a Tuesday night but for those parents out there, I’d say for their children it's a fantastic life experience and really good education to come and watch Lincoln City on a Tuesday night. So, I'm sure a little bit of tiredness on a Wednesday morning will be worthwhile and give those children a really good experience.

Any Imps supporters who haven’t yet purchased a ticket for the game this evening, be reminded that they can pay on the gate at the stadium at the Ricoh Arena ahead of kick off.

“If we can get as many supporters as we can there, it will be huge for us because we've had a lot of games and we're going to need them to drive our energy like they do so well. So, we'd really appreciate their support and anyone still a little bit unsure, just make sure you make the right decision."
