After only recently being announced as home shirt sponsors for The Imps this season, the club sat down with Kirk and Annabel from NSUK and get their thoughts on the Lincoln City journey, the shirt sponsorship and the positive impact it’s had to date.
Q: You are both from Lincolnshire is that correct?
“Yes we are both born and bred in Lincolnshire. One of Kirk’s youngest memories is coming to Lincoln Castle on a school trip and tracing the wall onto paper with crayons! We have continued our support for Lincoln City from those early days throughout some lows and the recent highs. We want to help the club stay on this ever-growing journey, keep this incredible momentum and support ongoing”
Q. We hear that Annabel is a huge Imps' supporter and has been from a very young age. We were told that comes from her father who is a huge fan, is that true?
“That’s very true, Annabel’s Dad took Annabel to her first game when she was just 5 years old, ever since she’s been a fan of the club and enjoyed games from the Stacey west stand back when the home supporters were housed in there, but now she can be seen in the Coop stand, so yes, it’s a life long commitment. We both love sitting out in the stand and soaking up the atmosphere with all the fans and we will continue to do so.
Q. So would that long association with the club be one of the motivating factors in NSUK - Asbestos Services wanting to be involved with the football club?
“Of course, there’s nothing better than being able to give back to a club you’ve seen for so long and in recent years move back into the Football League. Kirk saw his first Lincoln City game from a young age also, so it’s one thing we always pictured doing.”
Q. Why is now the right time for NSUK - Asbestos Services to be part of the football club?
NSUK - Asbestos Surveys are an ambitious, fast growing company, and we as a company feel like we have a lot in common with the club. We’re growing, we’re getting bigger by the day, and just like everyone at Lincoln City we’re so passionate about what we do. We feel it’s important for partners to share a similar vibe and ethos. We understand the clubs journey and us supporting the club means we can grow together and already with the involvement we’ve had already with the club over the past two years we feel that the partnership is only getting stronger by the day.”
Q. (Question for Annabel) Was it a little surreal to see your company name on the shirt of the team you’ve supported for so long?
“Completely, when I arrived at the Lincolnshire Show I couldn’t quite believe it, I think the best way to describe how I felt was; I was proud. But not just of the business but of a team who have got their city behind them and are ready for anything.”
Q. Although the partnership with the club is in its infancy, has your connection with Lincoln City made a positive impact on your business so far?
“It has indeed, Annabel being a yellow belly herself knows how friendly Lincoln people are. We’ve both made contact with season ticket holders and other sponsors about business opportunities. The way we see it is the more we grow the more we can back our home team.”
