Ellis Chapman started life as a Spireite with a 1-0 victory, helping Chesterfield secure their first home league win since December, 8th.

The 18-year-old made the loan switch to the Proact Stadium on Thursday, and made an immediate impact, starting at left-back for John Sheridan's side.

Chapman provided stability at the back, while also becoming an outlet in attacking positions for Chesterfield, and impressed new boss Sheridan.

"I thought we passed it about well, and young Ellis did really well in his first game," the Chesterfield boss said.

The result moves Chesterfield out of the National League relegation zone, as Chapman and his team-mates face a trip to fourth-placed AFC Fylde at the weekend.

Jordan Adebayo-Smith joined Grantham Town on loan on Sunday. The Gingerbreads are sat in the lower reaches of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division, and face high-flyers South Shields at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Tim Akinola, who's currently on loan at Lincoln United, didn't have a fixture this weekend, but face Frickley away from home on Saturday.
