Imps Mums to lead the sides out against the Silkmen

29 March 2019

Saturday's fixture marks our inaugural Mothers as Mascots day at Sincil Bank in celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Earlier this month we asked supporters to nominate their Imp Mums and the club has been inundated with emails after a phenomenal response. Six Mother’s were chosen at random to experience the day as a mascot and walk out with their heroes at Sincil Bank.

The Mum’s nominations can be seen below:

Charlotte Crowley

Charlotte has supported Lincoln City most of her life as her Dad and brother are avid fans. We now are Junior Imp season ticket holders with her beloved boys, Harry and James Crowley-Mott who love everything about the football club and have been mascots themselves. We would like to give Charlotte her own day, as she always puts others before herself.

Emma Lanckham

Emma and her son Kristian have attended Lincoln City matches together since 2003 when he was around two months old. There are so many memories to choose from but going to Wembley for the Checkatrade Trophy Final stuck out. It was the first time either my mum or I had ever visited Wembley Stadium.

Elliott Whitehouse was one of Emma’s favourite players that season and after the league game before she jokingly said to Elliott a goal at Wembley would make her birthday even better. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that he’d go on to score that memorable goal. We’re hoping there are lots more memories to come.

Elaine Elvidge

Elaine has been a Season Ticket Holder for over 20 years and supported the Imps all her life. She is a gold member and has done much more for the club, such as volunteering to assist the ground team when times were hard for the club. Not only this, she is a brilliant mum and does so much for us and our own children. She manages to have all four of them at times when we all work even when she isn’t 100%. She even teaches all of them the Lincoln songs (clean versions).

Sharon Henry

Getting to Sincil Bank early to see the players is a great start to our day - although Dad questions it every week “we’re leaving at 11am for a 3pm kick off?!” Mum insists we get to the ground early as we love spending the day at Sincil Bank and there is nothing like being in the Co-op Stand cheering on the lads.

Our Mum is a very vocal fan, always singing and clapping, cheering on the team win, lose or draw. Being the Imp she is, Mum has already sorted tickets this evening for the Macclesfield game, however my sister and I would love to be able to surprise her with this fantastic opportunity.

The priceless memories that would be made from watching her come out of the tunnel alongside John Akinde or Bruno Andrade (she’s not fussy...but they are her favourites!) would make the match a day to cherish!

Helen Wagstaff

Luke aka The Spug would like to nominate his mum Helen Wagstaff as a mascot. She is very supportive of his football, taking him to his training in all-weathers, several times a week as well as his matches.

This was also the case with Luke’s big brother Ben when he played for Stafford Rangers. She’s taken Luke to watch Lincoln City and although she is Bradford born and bred and more a fan of Rugby League you can see from the photos below that she is more of an Imp than she would admit.

She really does count herself as a footie mum, maybe even a goalie and she always feels for whoever’s between the sticks whenever she watches a game.

Karen Hudson

Karen is a Season Ticket Holder at Sincil Bank along with her mum, and Karen can often be seen around the ground sometimes even with her dog! They both came down to the late-night opening at the Ticket Office at Sincil Bank with ‘Holly’ where they caused quite the stir with the players and supporters!

We hope our mascots enjoy the occasion and that all Imp Mum’s have a fantastic weekend!
