It was a season to remember for the Imps as they secured their first League Two title since the famous 1975/76 season. As Lincoln approach League One football for the first time since 1998/99 it’s time to take a look back at the statistics from what was a successful time away from home.

City broke a number of long standing away records throughout the campaign which saw them take a record breaking away league following of 5,556 to MK Dons with the Imps coming out as 2-0 winners.

Bruno Andrade produced incredible scenes in the away end scoring Lincoln’s second goal of the game in the second minute of added time securing a vital set of three points at the business end of the season.

Bruno was one of 15 different Imps players to score away from home with just four own goals going in favour of Lincoln at Exeter, Cheltenham, Port Vale and Bury.

With the Imps consistently putting on an impressive away performance throughout the 2018/19 campaign, they were the second highest away scorers in the division with 38 goals going their way.

Danny Cowley’s men picked up a total of 42 points on the road this season, the highest amount accumulated by the Imps in their 106 seasons in the Football League.

Lincoln also had an impressive defensive record on the road conceding just 20 goals in 23 games putting them second in the least amount of goals conceded.

Cowley’s side also kept a total of eight clean sheets away from home with their last coming against MK Dons in April.

City had an average away following of 1,394 fans travel up and down the country with the furthest round trip being 504 to Exeter City in September 2018.

The Imps won 3-0 with club Captain Lee Frecklington opening the scoring just before half-time, John Akinde was quick to add a second two minutes into first-half added time. Exeter defender Troy Brown added the third putting the ball into his own net in the 56thminute.

City had a total of seven away penalties throughout the 2018/19 campaign, successfully converting six through striker Akinde.
