Lincoln City can confirm plans to welcome fans back to LNER Stadium in a reduced capacity model for our Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final have been approved by Public Heath Lincolnshire and the local Safety Advisory Group.

This is subject to UK government confirmation as well as a similar agreement being reached with our opponents and their own local Public Health office.

Derek Ward, Director of Public Health at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "We've been supporting Lincoln City with their plans for the safe return of fans. This fixture will have a limited capacity to enable social distancing and the club will be using a range of measures such as staggered entry and exit times, to limit the potential spread of the virus.

"We realise the play-offs are an exciting time for fans, but it's important we don't undo the progress we've made in reducing infection levels locally. Fans also need to take sensible precautions when travelling to and from the ground, and we strongly encourage fans without tickets not to gather outside the ground and ensure any celebrations are in line with the latest Covid guidance.

"This way fans can be a part of what looks set to be an exciting end to the season, without putting themselves and others at risk."

Debbie Barnes, Chief Executive at Lincolnshire County Council, added: "The fans' return is another step back towards normality for the county and an indication that the hard work we've all put in to tackling Covid is paying off.

"We know it will mean a lot to the team to have their fans in the stadium at such an important point in the season, and I'm delighted we've been able to support the club in making this happen. We wish Lincoln City the best of luck in the play-offs."

More details on the reduced capacity and extra measures in place for fans’ safety, as well as how to apply for tickets, will be released in due course. The club would like to thank all Imps fans for their incredible support in such a challenging year for us all.
